Here is day two for Earth week. Today is a rainbow. I like how it starts but LOVE how it ends. Have you ever done that? You know, where you start something makeup related that you think will be great....and it just turn out the way you wanted? I didn't want to film it all again so I just added a short video at the end of how I changed a few things. Enjoy....or just cut to the end LOL ; D. Tell me I'm not alone in this?

Color Explosion!!!
Spring 2011 gives us an infuse of color the likes of which we haven't seen in years. Most seen colors on the New York runways of fashion week? Bright blues, bright chartreuse (is there any other kind?), bright pink, bright reds...Are you seeing a pattern???
*BRIGHT*
Whites, tans and golds were also thrown into the mix whilst incorporating these bright colors. Look at these yummy images below to see how this trend plays out in clothing and makeup.
Makes me think of Gidget movies from the late 50's early 60's...well maybe not the head piece...

All shades of red are welcome, but look below for SHOCK value!

Hot pink is fantastic and also very daring. If you can't commit to the brightness in a large way try it out on your lips first. My fav? Girl About Town from MAC.
Chartreuse may be a color I have to lightly tread into. My goal this next month? Find one way I can incorporate this bold color into my wardrobe. I think it DoEs look pretty fantastic with that tan!

Without QUESTION I heart white! I am even changing my whole ROOM to have white bedding, large white flower arrangements around the room and I LOVE me a great white T with jeans!!!!! I absolutely love these flowing frocks of yumminess and want them like yesterday!
Tan.
Oh the warmness and chicness of tan. You just can't go wrong. Well, maybe you can...

And last but not least GOLDS.
Who doesn't love to sparkle and shine? Find an excuse to sparkle sometime this month and if you don't have a reason MAKE one! Have a girls night out and have everyone step it up a notch. Sometimes I get tired of reserving my cute little dresses for Sunday and wear them out when everyone is in jeans. THAT'S OKAY! Rock a look and have fun with it. If you're looking for a fab eye color to go with your sparkle, brush on some MAC Motif (looks gold but has a pink pearl shine to it) and out you go!

The Ghost of Posts Past
Here is another post that was from the past and I wanted to put it up again. This is not a RULE for what you HAVE to wear but see what your eye color is and go to the opposite color and that will be the one that will make your eyes stand out, pop even. Read on........It may be just me but I think it is SUPER important to know your color wheel. Especially when you want to create a new look. See how the colors opposite each other on the wheel are complimentary and can add drama to your eyes? Find your eye color on the wheel and go to the other side to see what would be best for you. Green eyes=REDS!!!! Maroons, pinks red-violet etc. Blue eyes=ORANGE!!!! Maybe not pure orange but anything that has an orange undertone would be AMAZING!!! Peaches, golds and corals with orange undertones. Brown eyes=BLUES!!! Even purples with blue undertones are amazing. Analogous colors are ones that are right next to each other and can also be used to create a complimentary look i.e. green, yellow green and yellow. Look at an orchid and see that it's so beautiful and vivid because the purple and deeper purples are complimenting the yellows. Use one as a liner and the other two as a base and crease color or whatever you want. Now there are also split complimentary colors and triad colors but let's just keep it simple =)....plus I don't want to sound like a text book. Go and check them out!!!!!

For Katy =)
The colors that I have in my blue palette are all colors from MAC. You can buy the eyeshadow in it a "pot" at the counters or get what is called a refill from an actual MAC store. The palette can also be purchased there and you can pick up to 15 colors to buy and put in there or take your time filling it. If you buy the eyeshadows at a MAC counter then I have a site on the side for you to show you how to get them "de-potted" and then they will fit in the palette. These are the colors I have (going across each row starting with the lime green): Bitter, Mink & Sable, Aquadisiac, Clarity, Star By Night, Swimming, Humid, Talent Pool, Electric Eel (better than Clarity to me), Chrome Yellow (LOVE!!!), Sumptuous Olive (exactly like Mink & Sable), Newly Minted, Tilt, Deep Truth (LOVE!!!) and Contrast (LOVE!!!). I definitly did not buy these all at once but have enjoyed buying shadows every now and then and building up my collection so that now I have an "only blue palette".....obviously when I buy another blue the Chrome Yellow will HAVE to go somewhere else =). The colors that I bought at Khols also fit into these and I will most likely buy a MAC palette for them as well. Tutorial coming soon on Newly Minted!!!!!!

For Brooke =)

Now I recommend ALL of these colors for you but obviously you are going to pick just 3-4. They are: Bitter, Wedge, Deep Truth, Nehru, Blanc Type, Humid, Parfait Amour, Plum Dressing and Beautiful Iris. Go and see what ones you like and buy buy buy!!!! Tell me which ones you get and I will do a tutorial for you based on those colors. Have SO much fun and don't be afraid to try the deeper colors, they will look GREAT with your brown eyes...TRUST me!!!

No Video But a Hot Look
So I FINALLY (with the aid of my mother-in-law) found out how to take these close up shots and will now use my OWN eyes for the looks!!!!! I am SO excited. This eye uses Nylon on the inner corner faded into Bitter then Electric Eel and finally Deep Truth on the outer V. To soften the transition from the Nylon to the Bitter I patted a little Chrome Yellow. On the brow bone I used Vanilla. On the bottom lash line I used the darkest to the lightest color starting from the outside going in. Black liner and mascara finished off the look. Try it out ladies!!!!!!

So I am a geek and throughout the tutorial I say that I am going to be using Talent Pool to join these two colors....aaaand never do =). So add the step if you must or just go with what I did. The choice is yours America =). Also I did this tutorial before the contest but just didn't post it so when I say to submit looks.....yeah, just dismiss that =).
